OPIOID CRISIS GIGAMAP
Spring 2020
A detailed gigamap unpacking the opioid epidemic in the United States. It specifically articulates the current causes and effects, inputs and outputs, stakeholders, and feedback loops that fuel this wicked problem while demonstrating the interconnectedness of individual facets in the system. In response to the crisis, the map proposes several leverage points that aim to intervene in terms of education, policy, healthcare, the environment, and the economy.
Team: Joseph Kim, Teresa Lourie, Maggie Ma, and Zimmy Kang. I specifically contributed in refining the composition, pushing the group to clearly articulate complexity with different lenses, iterating on the information containers, and helping maintain a cohesive yet engaging visual language.
